There are two major categories of dictionaries: general-purpose and specialized.
The General Dictionary is used for everyday purposes. The main purpose is to provide a general knowledge of the English language. The information is organized alphabetically and the definitions are arranged by the letters.
Specialized Dictionaries are used for professional purposes. The purpose of the dictionary is to give the user information for a particular field or profession. It may include information about the company, the company’s name, its service or products, and so on.
The dictionary is used in the same way as other reference works. When the user finds the word, he is required to select the meaning and usage of the word from the provided list of possible meanings. This is a good dictionary, but it does not require much explanation. The Dictionary works well even on slow connections.
